Question
QUESTION: So a few days ago my and my boyfriend were hanging around. He had his hands in his pants once or twice but he says that he was just fixing his boxers because he had an erection and was uncomfortable. He put his hands into my pants [but not inside my underpants] and started to rub me. He went back kind of far, but never fingered me. I dont think he cummed, and if there was some pre-cum on him when he rubbed me what is the chance that it went inside and i could be pregnant? thank you!

ANSWER: Dear Sam,

There is no way you are pregnant.  Don't worry. If there were any sperm
involved the sperm could not penetrate underwear.

Best wishes,

Deb

QUESTION: What if my underwear was pretty thin? I am so paranoid you have no idea. Im also only 14 with super strict parents. I heard from the internet that it CAN go through thin underwear because the fibers are too loose.

ANSWER: Dear Sam,

In normal sexual intercourse, it takes many, many sperm to fight their way up the vagina, through the cervix and into the uterus and into the fallopian tubes to meet up with an egg.  It is an arduous journey, and most sperm die along the way.

Precum would only have sperm in it if your boyfriend ejaculated recently and there were leftover sperm in his penis.  These sperm can mix with precum and cause pregnancy on RARE occasions during sex with penetration.

Now put these things together, it take many sperm ejaculated directly into a vagina to cause pregnancy, and precum contains few if any sperm, plus throw in a barrier of underpants, even thin ones.

So, now can you see how it would be next to impossible for any sperm to have made it all the way to an egg?

There are not enough sperm, and they were located in the wrong place.

Best wishes, and write back again if you need more info.

QUESTION: this whole thing happened 10 days after my period. Isnt that the time when it
is most commen to get pregnant? If so what are the chances now?

Answer
Dear Sam,

Yes, that would be when you were fertile, but it would be a miracle for any sperm to actually get that far, far enough to each an egg.

In my above explanations I was assuming there was an egg ready to be fertilized anyway, so the previous answers remain the same.

I don't blame you for being so scared.  I can remember having those days myself, very well.

But sperm just aren't strong enough to swim through even thin underpants, all the way up the vagina, through the cervix, through the uterus, and up into the fallopian tubes.  Think about what a head start sperm normally get, when they are ejaculated up into the vagina.  They don't have that boost in your scenario.

Don't worry, you are not pregnant. If it will make you feel better, look for a home pregnancy test that can be taken as early as possible, maybe even before your period is due.

Take care,

Deb
