Expert: Deborah Date: 7/28/2008 Subject: Fifteen and raped.
Question My period normally comes on the 26th-1st of the month. It hasn't come yet and it's the 28th. A guy that I know attempted to rape me on the 18th, but it only lasted three minutes- five minutes tops, before someone finally came and he pulled out. Could I be pregnant? My last period was somewhere around the 26th of last months. I'm only fifteen and I'm very scared, because my parents would never understand if I turned out to be pregnant. Please help me ASAP.
Answer Dear Elisa,
Anytime a person has unprotected sex, pregnancy is a possibility, whether ejaculation occurred or not. Although if ejaculation did occur, the chances of pregnancy are much higher.
Since it doesn't sound like ejaculation occurred, and in many rape cases it doesn't, your chances of being pregnant are small. You can buy a home pregnancy test at any drugstore, no matter how old you are. Follow the directions exactly. For example, take the test first thing in the morning. The results are usually accurate.
Elisa, I just wanted to clarify something. In your question you mentioned "A guy that I know attempted to rape me ".
First of all, you were raped. It was not just an attempted rape, it was an actual rape.
Secondly, most rapists are someone the victim knows, as in your case.
You should tell your parents immediately. You have done nothing wrong here, but someone has done something terribly wrong to you.
