Question QUESTION: Hey I was talking with chanel but she went on vacation. I had sex on all the 12 to 16 days to have the chance of getting pregnant the two ovulation days and the day after the 16th day I went to have a pap smear and my doctor said I might have spotting or something but I thought I would be right away and that day I did not have spotting but the day after I did have a spotting and it was once after I went to the bathroom..is the spotting bc I might be conceiving and the egg is attatching to the uterus or is it becuz of the exam?
ANSWER: Dear Georgina,
I would say the spotting was from the exam, because there aren't enough days between the 12th and 16th for an embryo to be anywhere near implanting yet. It takes about 2 weeks from the date of sexual activity for an embryo to be implanting.
Take care,
Deb

QUESTION: Ok thanks that was helpfull :]
Um so it takes 2 weeks for the egg to attach to the uterus? So it takes 24 hours to conceive though? And then it starts moving to the uterus? So is it true to not worry about getting pregnant or else you won't? And will taking prenatals help me get pregnant easier?
Answer Dear Georgina,
It can take up to 6 days for sperm to reach an egg and cause fertilization. It can take another 6 days for the fertilized egg to travel to the uterus and a few more days until implantation is complete.
It is true that stress and worry can delay conception.
Prenatal vitamins will not make it easier to get pregnant, but they will help make the embryo healthier when you do get pregnant.
