Subject: pregnant?
Question im 17 years old, i frequently have sex with my boyfriend and we alway use a
condom and are smart about it. my period is almost always 28 days apart,
last month it was a day early and i was suppose to get it 3 days ago and it
hasnt come. i took the first response pregnancy test last night and it showed
negative. I just got back from vacation where my sleeping patern and eating
was different then normal. due to being on vacation i became constipated
because i was uncomfortable going to the bathroom there, could any of this
play a role?
i dont see how i really could be pregnant, but why is my period late? i do
have breast tenderness but that *always* happens before i get my period..
other websites i have read breast tenderness is a key sign of pregnancy, but i
always get that before my period...
Answer Dear Stephanie,
I would take the test again, this time make sure it is after a full night's sleep. The longer you sleep, the more concentrated your urine is, and the pregnancy hormone will be detected more easily.
By the time you read this, you may have already gotten your period. That happens all of the time. Your sleeping and eating pattern could have thrown off your internal clock, and quite possibly delayed your period. Stranger things have happened.
If you still don't have your period in a week, and the tests keep coming back negative, a doctor's visit may be in order. Your doctor can find out why your period is delayed.
Take care,
Deb
