Question
My boyfriend's sister just had a baby.  At first it was cute cuz yu could cuddle it n stuff, but then we had to watch it and change diapers and that smeled gross.  Plus it cried the whole time.

I don;t want to have a kid now, so I told my bf i didn;t want to have sex no more and he's resally mad and wants to break up.   He sys i'm over reacting nd that i won't get pregnant cause he puls out/  Is this true?

Answer
Dear Jules,

No, it's not true.  You are very smart to be worried about pregnancy.  The pull out method is very unreliable, and many, many people get pregnant from this method.  Here is an answer I just gave another girl about it:

"How reliable is the withdrawal/pull out method?"

"Dear Gemma,

It is so unreliable that many people refuse to even call it a "method" of birth control.  The most recent statistics I've seen give it a 27% failure rate.  That is enormous!

Most of the pregnancies caused by this method are due to the man ejaculating in the woman by accident.  A small percentage are caused by
sperm mixed in with precum."

Jules, you are absolutely right to stop having sex with your boyfriend until you get on a reliable form of birth control.  Your doctor can go over the choices with you.

Best wishes,

Deb
