Question
hello,
i am 18 years old and i have been dating my girlfriend for 23 months and i really think we are perfect for each other there are no words that express my feelings for her and she is the same way! I want to propose to her but i dont know how to do it and i want to ask her dad first but i have no idea how to handle it or what to say please help.
Thanks
Lewis

Answer
Hi Lewis,

I know your nervous about what to say to her or her father. My simple advice is just be yourself.  Propose her should be special and nice.  Good restaurant - her favorite location, lake or beach.  You get some ideas.

You can ask her father for advice, he may help you ways to propose.  Who knows unless you ask.  Please keep in mind, asking father permission is old fashioned way, many current newlyweds do not ask parents but to let them know they are going to get married.

Good luck and hope that her father will approve it.  If he do not, don't despair, if you truly love her and she feels the same way with you, then go ahead what hearts tells you.

You have a nice day.

Doc Jerry
