About Emily
Expertise
I can answer almost all teen issues such as self harm, suicide, eating disorders, depression and other mental health disorders, drugs, alcohol, assault, harrassment, family problems, trauma, friendship problems and a lot more, so just ask. Pretty much anything that teens have to face I can answer. I'm also Christian and non-judgmental so I can answer questions relating to religion. I will not judge people about anything.

Experience
I've experienced a lot of stuff in my life including facing death in several ways, self-harm, suicide, alcohol, harrassment, family and friendship issues and more. I've had to deal with my dad being sick all my life with MS and cancer, and I've dealt with severe depression, anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorder. I tried to kill myself more than once and now I want to help other teens who are having trouble.

Education/Credentials
In college studying psychology among other subjects. Plus life experience.

Question
I hate living with my parents. I am a pretty responsible 15 year old with good grades, but my mother and I aways fight. My mother has several mental illnesses including: ansiety, depression, OCD, bi- polar, and is a recovering alcoholic. I live with her and my step-dad, who is also a recovering alcoholic. They fight, and is not a positive environment for me. I have a great boyfriend who is 17 and has ben with me for 6months.  When he goes to college, i was thinking about moving in with him. (my mom also doesnt aprove because of the age diffrence in our relationship). So could i move out at 16? in florida, or if i was pregnant? plzz help

Answer
Hi Jennifer. I sincerely hope you aren’t planning on getting pregnant just so you can move out. Think of the child, what sort of life would it have? Especially if you and your boyfriend break up at some point, you won’t be able to give it a home or clothe it or any of that stuff.
The legal age to move out in Florida is 18 unless you have parental permission, or if you are being abused then you can contact social services.
