AboutJonathan Expertise I have dealt with many young people in a teaching environment as well as in teaching young people at tennis clinics. Since younger people have seen so little of the world their view of the world should not be shaped by the confines of what happens within their family unit. Its natural to be shy about developing relationships outside the home but young people need to know the other person is also probably just as shy as they are. If you havea problem then remember you are in good company. There are no new problems. Someone else has also had the same problem. If you need ideas on how to handle them or some choices to consider feel free to ask. I will answer questions about moral issues and how to handle such issues when they come up in your life.
Experience I have taught children from 7th through 12th grade. It is all too common for young people to be shy or hesistate because they fear rejection from someone of the opposite sex.

Answer tALK TO HIM IN PERSON AND TELL HIM YOU ARE SORRY FOR THE WAY YOU ACTEDOR SORRY FOR NOT BEING THERE FOR HIM. TELL HIM HOW MUCH YOU CARE FOR HIM AND LIKE HIM AND THEN WAIT FOR HIS ANSWER. IF HE AGREES THEN SUGGEST AN OUTING PERHAPS TO A MALL OR TO EAT OUT SOMEWHERE OR TO A SPORTING EVENT OR TO A MOVIE OR PLAY. lET HIM PICK IT AND DO YOUR HOMEWORK OR EVEN INVITE HIM YOURSELF . YOU DO NOT HAVE TO WAIT FOR A GUY TO ASK YOU OR YOU MIGHT BE WAITING FOR EVER. ITS OK TO ASK A GUY OUT AND IF HE SAYS HE CANT SAY WHY NOT . IF HE DOESNT HAVE ANY MONEY THEN IT WILL BE ON YOU BUT IT DEOENDS UPON HOW MUCH YOU LIKE THE GUY. GUYS LIKE TO THINK THEY ARE IN CONTROL AND THAT ITS THEIR IDEA SO LET HIM THINK ITS HIS IDEA. IF YOU GO OUT TO EAT AND THE GUY PAYS HAVE WHATEVER HE IS HAVING. THE GUY MAY NOT HAVA LOT OF MONEY AND IT COULD BE THE LAST TIME HE ASKS YOU OUT IF YOU BRWEAK HIM OR LEAVE HIM WITH NO CASH. sO NEVER ORDER THE HIGHEST ITEM ON THE MENU. EVEN IF HE TELLS YOU TO ORDER SAY "I'LL HAVE WHATEVER YOUR HAVING OR IF THE PLACE IS EXPENSIVE ASK FOR A SECOND PLATE AND SHARE IT. WHY PAY $17 TWO TIMES IF YOU CANNOT EAT ALL OF IT.
