Question
I'm not sure if you are someone that can help me but being as you have your doctorate in something i'm guessing that makes you older. I'm 17 and about 3 days ago i tried to commit suicide ( stupid i know). well at the time i was very drunk and refused to go unless my friends promised me my mom wouldnt find out.. so we lied to the hospital and told them i 19. they didnt see any identification or anything.. now my question is... do you think that i could get into some legal problems because of lying to the hospital? do you even know?

Answer
Hi Dani,

I am not an attorney,I can't give you any legal advice, however to my knowledge it is illegal to lie about your age, or sign any documents to defraud the hospital.  Hospitals are required to report to police, contact your parents, and child protection agency if your under 18.

I am surprised they did not demand any state ID's or SSN. They usually do that upon admission to the hospital, either as out-patient or in-patient, rules apply the same.

You have a wonderful day. I also strongly suggest you next time to not lie to anyone especially if your life is in danger.
