Question
I am from the state of Maryland but now I live in Arizona due to being in the military. My girlfriend just had a baby and she still lives in Maryland. The problem is that she is still a minor even tho we have been together for 5 years and her mom knew the whole time. I want to kno if she can still be controlled as a minor or does that go away no that she is a mom? We both want her and the baby to come here to Arizona with me but her mom is saying no and that is unfair to me being that he is my son and I have the right to be with him... Can you help me?

Answer
Hi Michael,

Thanks for this great question.  I am a Bible expert, not a legal one.  I do know that in many states, a minor is still under the authority of the parent.  You should also take care.  I know that in my state if there is more than two years difference the older person can be charged with rape of a minor in cases like this.  If you wish to stay with this girl and be involved with your child, you need to not try to come between your girl and her mom.

I hope that this helps you.

In Christ
Pastor Don
