Question
I am a major procrastinator and Facebook is my downfall in life. I can't get on a computer for more than an hour without going on facebook or checking e-mail when I know I'm supposed to be working on my homework. What spurs procrastination and what are some ways I can avoid the urge to do everything else besides what I'm supposed to be doing.

Answer
TIPS:
1)  Take a deep breath and assess your situation. Many times, simply taking a few seconds to breathe and evaluate your project, you gain the focus and motivation you need to begin or finish it. This also gives you a defined starting point.
2)  Make your mind stop wandering. If you continue to be distracted by the thoughts that pop into your head, keep a notepad nearby and take a few seconds to write down those thoughts. Once you’ve written them down, they’ll stop bothering you so you can continue working
3)  Look at yourself as if you were somebody else. Talk to yourself as one of your friends and encourage yourself to begin the project. If you’re alone, have this conversation out loud so you get a feel for what you are really saying.
4)  Break your project down into manageable parts. If you have several small parts to work on rather than one huge project, it will be less intimidating.
5)  Complete the hard parts first. By doing the hard parts of a project at the beginning, you have the easier parts to look forward to. Once you begin on the easy parts, the rest of the project will be a cinch.
6)  Recognize that the time you spend wasting could actually be used for working on your project. Tell yourself that the sooner you finish, the sooner you can do the activities you want to do without worrying about the unfinished project.
7)  Bite the bullet and just do it. Instead of sitting there thinking of excuses or reasons to keep putting it off, just start the project and work on it until it’s finished.

Tell yourself okay for every hour I spend working on homework I will have ten minutes on f/b

Hope this helps!
