Question Hi, You wanted to know my age. I am 14, and I don't mind you asking me questions, thats fine.
Hi, I was wondering whether anyone could help.
I have these thoughts which pop up in my head. These thoughts often happen after I've done something, i.e. lock the door (before i go to school) My mind keeps on telling me to go and check. When i leave from checking it, i have to do it over and over again. I have tried to ignore these thoughts and continue what i am doing, eventually i have to check it otherwise i get very stressed. I also have this perfection problem, where everything has to be immaculate and in alphabetical order (I.e.DVDS).
This has been happening for a week now, and i do not know what to do.
Please say whether you think I have OCD and what you would recommend.
Answer Hi,
Based on the above I can't tell you if you have OCD. Also as I am online I can't tell you if you have OCD. Your doctor can give you a test. Can I ask your age? I have a few more questions if you want regarding this issue you speak of. But, honestly I cannot label you, and I don't think any of my coworkers should either at this time.
Answer Hi,
Legally and ethically I cannot label you, nor will I really try to. But, I do want to ask you some questions:
1. When did this start?
2. Anyone else near you with such symptoms?
3. Have you ever been abused? OCD sometimes has a connection to abuse.
4. Have you had or do you have depression?
5. Do you think something bad will happen if you do not do such?
6. What do some of those thoughts hint at?
Please understand I highly recommend you to talk to your doctor about this. I have a theory(which is not based on enough information) it's not OCD, but it's something else. It's possible with more information I can either agree with this theory or disagree. I am not legally allowed to label you here. It's possible you have OCD, but with something else also. Sometimes they come in groups. OCD can be treated if this is what you have. You would not be alone with OCD if this is what you have.
