Expert: Dan Date: 8/11/2007 Subject: I'm moving away
Question Through my life I was raised in small towns. I'm now in the middle of my highschool years and my parents just ruined my life and decided that we were moving to a city. In other people's perspective they believe that it's great to move to experience things.
It's hard for me to accept this because I've never really called a place "home" before. And the recent town I'm living in right now I've grown into the town itself. I finally have real friends in this town due to the fact that i'm really shy, i'm in a bunch of academic clubs here where I'm promised a scholarship, and my self esteem has boosted up. I don't want to lose my best friends and close friends because of me moving away from them like most scenarios with other people.
This move to the city will make this my 7th house from the 4 different places I've lived. My parents don't understand where i'm coming from when i explain to them about the move and seem to not compromise about hanging with my friends if I ever do, they just get frustrated when I explain. but what am I suppose to do be happy that I'm leaving a place i can finally call home?
Including I've been gettin really rebellious by leaving the house when my parents aren't home.(i have to ask even if the answer is always NO to go somewhere)
And I don't want to be a bad child from this situation. Plus I've been having those times where I don't want to be in the life anymore. And I'm not stupid to ever try a thing like that but I have that urge to just not feel this emotional pain i've been feeling for 2 months already.
So here's my question.
Is there any way to prevent from moving?
How would i keep in touch besides technology?
How do I overcome this depression?
Has anyone ever asked a question like this too you?
I don't want to feel alone.
Thank you for your time
Answer "Is there any way to prevent from moving?"
This may not prevent the move, yet it could. See a family psychologist with them.
I know how hard moving is. I would like to talk to you more about this.
Your life is very important so if you have those thoughts talk to your parents about this. Talk to your doctor also.
"How would i keep in touch besides technology?"<--- Mail? That's one way to keep in touch with friends.
"How do I overcome this depression?"<--- Talk to us about this. Yet, understand I don't replace a psychologist and highly recommend one. It's not uncommon to have depression and treatment is out there.
"Has anyone ever asked a question like this too you?"<--- I have received questions along those lines before.
