Question QUESTION: I took the paper out of my FAX machine so that I would not get unsolicited FAX's. But when I put the paper back in to receive a FAX that I have requested, I also get all the old unsolicited ones. How can I refuse a FAX? Or should I just turn the machine on when I know that a FAX I want is coming?
ANSWER: Karen,
as you found out: removing the paper does no good in blocking sent fax's. Check your settings for "allowed" telephone numbers, or keep the fax machine turned off till you are ready to receive an authorized fax.

QUESTION: Spencer,
Thanks for your help. I'm a computer/fax novice. If I put the fax machine on manual would this be the same as not allowing numbers. I don't seem to have an allowed number setting. When I want a fax could I then set the mode to FAX/telephone. Really appreciate your input!
Answer Karen,
Without knowing your fax brand, service provider details, I'm giving you general answers, but setting your machine to manual fax/tel should work. Just remember to check which fax you want to print out before pressing the print button. As with ANY device - Don't be afraid to play with it! you can't break it by using any of the control settings, and most people find functions they didn't know they had! :) happy faxing, Spencer
