Subject: FAXING with TIME WARNER CABLE

Question
Hi Spencer,
i have time warner TV cable, Cable Internet, and phone service.  They call
their phone service "digital" (all in one). My phone wire plugs into the back of
a modem and I only have 1 line.  I'd like to be able to add my fax machine so
that i can SEND faxes out. However, i've tried a number of configurations and
nothing seems to work.  What sort of device is out there that I can plug into
the line port that i have to plug into that will allow me to send out faxes from
time to time?  Thanks so much for your help.

Answer
Regi Lynn,
If it's just a problem of having to unplug the phone, and plug in the fax to the port, try a jack splitter (available at most electronic and hardware stores) This will allow you to plug in two devices (2 phones, a phone and a fax, 2 faxes, etc) IF however your faxes just wont send, its a settings problem and I suggest you contact time warner, or your fax manufacturer for the correct settings using a digital line.
                      Spencer
