Question
My phone has a dial tone, and I can place outgoing calls.  My answering system via Verizon (my land line provider)will pick up and take messages.  The phones do not ring in the house.
Recently added dsl with a modem and then two days later added a wireless router to the system for a laptop.  Any suggestions as the resolving the problem?

Answer
McKinny,

Is your answering system voice mail or an answering machine?
If it's voice mail contact Verizon. If it's a device do you have DSL filters on ALL your phones and devices NOT including your modem? Are the phones cordless or corded? If cordless move the base unit to another location away from the modem and router and computer. Cordless phones are famous for not getting along with modems and other wireless devices, so keep them as far apart as you can and even on different electric circuts if possible. Never use the same telephone jack for a cordless base and a modem.
