Subject: Connect fax through cordless phone

Question
My husband usually handles all this stuff but since he chose to kill himself this year in the middle of remodeling the house now I'm stuck.  He didn't run a phone line to where the fax/printer is supposed to reside.  No one wants to do it for me and I can't.  So I'm trying to find out if there is a way or even a phone system that will allow me to connect my fax through a CORDLESS phone rather than having to run another cable!

Answer
Susan,

There are several "devices" on the market today that should be able to fill your need. Most are available in electronic stores, and some are even sold in hardware and your local food store.

Without naming brands, look for add a jack, magic phone, etc...
All let you add a phone where one couldn't before without the wire run. Make sure you don't try to place it between the control unit and ANY major appliances like your heating or air conditioning units, or any solid walls like a fireplace.

G.E. RCA and others all have these on the market now.
