Question
I have a base unit and two handsets. Occasionally the base unit went totally dead for a few minutes--absolutely nothing. So I bought a new set of phones yesterday and set them up with the help of the supplier. Now this one has gone totally dead for a few minutes. Is this an electrical or a phone line problem.
Many thanks

Answer
Billy,

Without knowing more about your wireless system -ie the brand model, setup etc... I'm going to have to take a guess.

If the base unit is DEAD NO LIGHTS AT ALL I'll say it's an electrical problem and to check the plug, cord and wall socket. If you have any lights working on the base, then it's getting power and you need to check the telephone cord, and jack, and ALL other devices you have connected to your telephone line ie: alarms, computers, teevo, satellite box, and of course any other telephones wired or wireless. Unplug each item one at a time and see if the problem goes away next time you have a "dead" base unit. Remember teeveo and other devices will seize your line for a few minutes every time they check your settings.
I'm betting on your computer being the cause, and suggest you move the base or computer to another location.
