Subject: Bad TR message on fax machine
Question I have an HP T45 all in one printer/copier/fax machine. I can send out faxes, but when someone tries to send me a fax, they get the message Bad TR. What does this mean? The only thing attached to this phone line is the fax machine. When I disconnect the fax and attach a phone it works perfectly! I have even had the phone company come in and check the line and they say it is ok.
Answer Donna,
I'm guessing that you only receive faxes from 1 person and that's where you're getting the "bad tr" code. Although that's not a HP code, it might stand for bad transmission. If this is happening from more than that sender, try going to hp.com and checking their help site. Since we know it's not your line, perhaps it's the person SENDING you the fax. You may also want to try resetting your device to hp's standards. This is all covered in the help site at hp.
Good Luck,
Spencer
