Question
Hello,

I have a Brother MFC 8440 which includes a fax and a Uniden 5.8g with a corded phone/answering machine.  The Uniden has caller id and the Brother has a caller id display.  The tel line is connected as recommended to the line in, the tad goes to the line out.  The fax and tad function correctly.  However, the caller id will only display on the fax and not on the telephone or tad.  Caller id works when the tad is connected directly to the in coming phone line bypassing the fax.  Any ideas on how to get the caller id working on the tad?

Answer
David,
Check the settings on your fax and phone for a caller id setting. MOST caller id's will work with more than one display device if you set them as device 1 device 2 etc... or you can always use a duplex jack and plug the tel in before the fax.
