Question
No one seems to know the answer to this question so I thought I'd go to the expert/s. I was given a Panasonic Extra Range Telephone KX-TC1065BXB for Christmas a few years ago. I think it was purchased in Singapore but I am using it in Australia currently as we have the same power output. I just bought new rechargable batteries for it as it has not been charging. The cradle itself has a speaker phone which I can use perfectly. When you put the phone on the cradle, the green charge button is lit but the phone is dead when you pick it up. What could be the reason why the handset itself is not charging? I know that the batteries fit well. It may also be useful to say that before I changed the batteries, there was this mint gree stuff on the edges of the 3v battery pack.

Answer
Mario,
That "mint green stuff" is called corrosion, and it has most likely damaged your handsets ability to make a good connection to recharge itself and or draw power from it's new battery pack. TRY cleaning the contacts inside the handsets battery compartment with a metal scrub brush and some baking soda mixed in a small amount of water. If the battery pack was badly corroded you might have damaged wires as well, and replacement would most likely be cheaper than repair. Good luck, Spencer
