Subject: NG poor line condition when sending to efax

Question
Hello,

My phone co is bellsouth.  I have a brother mfc-8500, whenever I send to an efax number, I get the error code "NG: poor line condition."  There are no problems faxing to regular fax numbers.  This happens with different efax numbers [not just the same one].  Any idea what it could be?

Thanks!

Answer
Robyn,
What else is connected on that line? A computer? a modem? etc.. Check your manual for settings, or try disconnecting some/all of the other devices, and try your fax again. As your faxes go thru, you can start connecting the other devices ONE AT A TIME until you get the N/G line error. When you do you know THAT'S the device causing your problems, and you can then get a specific solution for that device. you may need a filter, or just change your settings depending on the device. TEVO is famous for this, but I'd contact Brother and explain the problem and what you've done to fix it so they can guide you.
  Good luck, Spencer
