Subject: How to get phone answer mach. to recieve call instead of fax

Question
Have Brother MFC-240C and AT&T model 1480 telephone.Fax answers instead of answer machine, don't know how to remedy.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Answer
Mark,
You need to check the answer settings on both your fax and answering machine. Make sure you have the Answering Machine set to answer at a lower number of rings than the fax. You may also need to get a device that can disingish between a fax and a voice call. (most electronic stores carry these.)
