Question Hello Carmine,
A friend of mine told me about Vonage and I wonder if you've heard anything it. Evidently it provides local and long distance phone service for $25 per month and $5 for extra numbers. It uses the Internet. Numbers are portable. I'm now paying $60 per month to Verizon for 2 local lines and $29.95 per month to AT&T for unlimited long distance.
Any advice will be most appreciasted.
Thanks!

Answer Hello Earl,
I Too Do Not Know A Lot About Them.
I Do Know That You Have To Have Braodband Internet Service, Cable Modem Or DSL + A Router, To Get Their Service. It Is VOIP (Voice Over IP) And Sends The Dialtone Over Your Internet Connection To Your Router And On To Your Telephone... One PitFall Is That You Can Not Call 911 From The Telephone Line, The Dialtone Is Comming From Somewhere In Texas... If You Have Internet Service, Do An epinions Search On Them...
Good Luck & Good Hunting
PS, I Have Gotten Rid Of My Home Phone And Use Cell Phones For Me And The Miss's. Cable For Internet And TV
Business Lines Are With Another Company, LDMI, Need Them.
