Question QUESTION: Hi just taught you all might be able to help with this crazy problem I'm having.
I am in Hawaii on Hawaiintelcom's network with a KX-TA824 pbx supporting KX-T7731 phones. when calling within the state there is not a problem but when leaving the state switches the system seems to be networking me as a pay phone or something; setting a 20 minute time limiter. After witch I hear the common womans voice saying you have 2 minutes remaining and then cutting me off, and yet the receiving end does not hear it at all. Also this test can be dun with a line taped into with an analog 2 wire phone on the phone company's demarcation box and the message is still herd there and not at the receivers end. Ben working on this nightmare for over a year even replacing the unit due to a unrelated issue, and changing long distance provider and still the same result.
Help please
Thanks Tim
ANSWER: Hi Tim-
While I'm not familiar with Panasonic PBX's, I can understand your issue. While first reading your description, I thought it could have been an interface problem between your PBX, the local CO, and the mainland's CO, but then I read about your test using a butt set on the CO's Demarc. If you're still getting the generic message from the CO's Demarc with an analog set totally isolated from your PBX, there is a translation issue between your local CO and the mainland's CO. I'm not sure if you've been involved with tech support from HawaiianTelcom, but that would be my first stop.
If I can assist further, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thanks for the question and good luck!
Eric

QUESTION: Thanks Eric
I've been working with HawaiianTelcom tech support since day one I do not get the generic message totally isolated from the pbx and they keep telling me that it's on my end and that they cannot do anything. I think that I need some kind of expectation code from HawaiianTelcom to put into my pbx but since they do not install or support this key system they are not being very help full and don't know themselves
Answer Hi Tim-
What kind of service are you getting from Hawaiian Telecom- analog, T-1, PRI? If the lines are plain jane analog circuits, then a code shouldn't be needed. Now, if it's a PRi and/or a T-1, then there is something wrong with the translation between the CO and the PBX. The service provider should be able to come out and test the T-1 at the smart jack to see if everything is kosher. Has Panasonic been any help? Have you contacted their tech support? I'd be interested to see what they have said during all of this...
