Question Hi! This may be a long shot, but I'll give it a try. I have cable broadband internet access and would like to get Vonage, but my problem is that I have no phone jack near the computer. There is, however a a phone jack near the tv, but with the home theater there, I have no room to move my desk...and there is a phone jack in the living room, but the cable will be in the way of foot traffic no way to conseal it. I think my best bet would be finding an extra long phone extension line, maybe 25 or 30 feet to connect to the phone jack in the family room next to the TV and connect to modem. Years ago I found some kind of phone jack adaptor thing that had prongs to plug into a regular outlet and you were able to plug in a phone into this outlet. It was literally turning any household outlet into a phone jack without installing another line. That is what I am ultimatly looking for, but do you have any suggestions how to connect the computer with the phone jack without moving the desk?

To my knowledge, and please correct me if I am wrong, you don't need a phone jack for Vonage. It connects directly to your broadband service, in line behind your broadband router. If your router is located at or near your computer desk, you should be in good shape. The only reason you would need a regular phone jack at your computer would be if you were reverting back to dial-up.
