Question I have an auto-dial home security device (in a vacant apt.)
programmed to call my cell phone if it detects motion. The device works well when tested, but I have received one false alarm (between 10:45 and 11:10 pm each of the six nights since installed. It uses Passive infrared technology and simulates the "redial" function . What could trigger these "once a day" calls at about the same time each night? Could it be a Telecom signal/query?
Answer Hey Ken-
I don't think a telecom query is the answer. Most local service providers (i.e. BellSouth) use analog technology for residential dial-tone service which would make it difficult for them top send a signal. It sounds like your problem may be resulting from a reboot cycle within the alarm CPU. Unfortunately, I have not had much experience with alarms, especially newer, more sophisticated models. Hope this helps!!
