Question recently i have blocked a number of a caller who was harassing me and calling late at nite etc
is there any way to bypass my block?
can a caller make it appear as if he is calling from another number?
assuming he can , will my steady call block of not accepting calls from private number kick in?
Answer Hi Yom,
The answer to your questions are simple to understand but difficult to explain, but let me try. Basically, caller ID is data that is built into the number that is ringing your phone. Since that data is built in by your service provider (i.e. BellSouth, Time Warner, etc...) there is no way for anyone OUTSIDE the service provider's office to manipulate the caller ID data. The only way the harassing phone caller can continue to call you is if he calls from a different number than the one that is blocked. If he calls from a number that is a "private number" your private number block should kick in.
I hope I was able to help you, and if I can answer any more questions, please let me know. Thanks for the question!
