Subject: Finding reputable medical billing jobs

Question
How to find a reputable medical billing job site or do you have any (and I say reputable)job sites you would recomend?
I am formaly educated in medical billing and coding. Have approx. two years experience.

Answer
Hi Scott,
Many medical billing "jobs" are actually courses that try to get you to buy their software. The problem is, it may not be the software the doctors you want to work with use.

I don't know of companies off hand. I do see jobs for medical billing on occasion, but its not as common as medical transcription. I do see more jobs offered as "coding". My recommendation would be to search job sites such as Careerbuilder.com or maybe even Mtjobs.com. Beware of any medical billing that asks for money as no legitimate employer will ask for money.

Another option is to approach medical facilities in your area and offer your services on a contract basis. Prepare something that shows how they can save money by hiring a contractor vs an employee and many will be willing to hire you.
