Question I am just now trying to get started with a job as a data entry telecommuter.
I have 8 years experience doing data entry work, outside of the home. I have recently gotten married and desire to work from home so I can be here as the homemaker I want to be but also bring in added income.
I refuse to pay out money to get started but don't really know where to look for jobs that don't require that.
Do you have suggestions?
Answer One of the best sources of telecommuting work is local companies. Often they are too small to handle occasional or large projects. Make little signs and post them on bulletin boards.
Search for 'virtual assistant' in any search engine and look at some of the reasons people give on why you should use their services. It might give you some great ideas! That is the key to successful telecommuting - being creative.
For other telecommuting jobs, look at these places:
(It is free if you must join, and they take a small percentage of jobs that you win your bid for.)
www.craigslist.org (search all of the different locations, ignore the ones that look like bull or are repeated in most locations)
www.getafreelancer.com
www.guru.com
I have found these places to be the most reliable. You can also find other such databases by searching for the term 'freelancer database' 'telecommuting database'.
