Question
Hi,

My wife used to be a professional Procurement Contracts Administrator. She left her job so she could stay at home to home school our 3 kids. Our kids are older now and I now work at home rather than in an office. So now she is willing to take a job as a Procurement Contracts Administrator provided she can find a job working from home. There are plenty of these type of jobs working for High Tech companies here in Austin, Texas. Austin is called Silicon Hills.

How would you advise my wife go about trying to find out if she could find a job working from home instead of having to go into a company office?

Answer
Hi Brad,
My suggestion would be to send a letter of inquiry and a resume to companies that use Procurement Contracts Administrators and see if they are open to hiring a telecommuter or contract worker. In the letter she should outline her skills and experience as they can directly help the company plus provide information on how telecommuting can save companies money (telecommuters are more productive, take less time off, use less office resources...etc). You can find many current news items that support the business advantages of telecommuting through Google New or other newswires. This information offers great support material to a company that may not know much about telecommuting.
