Question

Hello, Mr Smith

I've heard from a friend that it is possible
to make international calls from a computer to
a telephone

How can i do this?

I'm new to this type of technology and would appreciate
if you explain me how I can use internet telephony (the recommended software & hardware and system requirements)

P.S. I own a laptop (Inspiron 5150) with the following properties:

Windows XP
Mobile Intel Pentium 4
CPU 2.80 GHz
1.59 GHz, 512 MB Ram
(it is around 5-6 years old)

Looking forward to your reply,
John K.

Answer
I am involved more in using the internet for voice calls from phone systems, but from a standalone PC you could try skype which is popular software to download to you pC but you will also need a handset to speak down, it will be free to other skype users but not to other lines. I downloaded skype myself but never used it.
