Question
When I go on vacation I usually take my computer and use it in my room.

It occurred to me that i might take my telephone (not cell) and use it to call out.  If so could i then have all the calls go against my home phone log distance charges.  The advantage for me would be that i have unlimited use at home.

Thanks for any information that you can give me

Answer
John,

Unless you have a very long cord and repeters aka the AT&T long distance network, your idea won't work.
Wired phones dont retain the number assigned by the carriers (like cell phones do.)You'd be using the hotels pbx and your ROOM would be charged for the calls.
