Question
We have a wall mounted, corded phone in the kitchen, a cordless phone in the upstairs bedroom. When someone is talking on either one of the phones, a second person is unable to hear any conversation on the other phone. Occassionally a word or sound comes through, but mostly, indistingushable sounds. All worked well in the past, but, not on the last two phones? Any thoughts?

Thank you.

Harvey

Answer
Harvey,
What else is attached to your phone service?
Tevo, alarms, computer, new cordless phone or one with old batteries, caller id unit etc?
Try disconnecting the cordless phone and using a corded one in it's place. (ask a friend or neighbor)  If you have your volume back you've found the problem! if not, try disconnecting other items one at a time, checking the CORDED phones in between each one. When the Volume Returns you've found your problem device. If it's the cordless phone, try doing a recharge on it's batteries, or replacing them. This is usually a sign of a cordless phone going dead, but can also be a computer problem so check these devices FIRST!
