About Marcia Studley Expertise I`m a true member of the tv generation! I grew up doing my homework while watching the classics of the 60`s and 70`s and today, they are still my favorites. I have a big library of tv and film reference books at my disposal, as well as a large video library. My memory is pretty darn good too, and when that fails, I can hit the books and/or videos, not to mention a few friends who are as devout tv gen members as I am. Please note that my expertise is with American tv only.
Question I'm trying to recall the title of a television movie from the early to mid 70s. It might have been a Hallmark Hall of Fame thing. It had a little girl, and if I recall, she had glasses and pigtails. The main thing I remember, though, is the opening scene (and I believe each opening scene after commercial breaks) showed a construction paper collage that faded into a real life scene as the show started up -- e.g., a collage of a family sitting around a table eating dinner would fade into a live family in that same pose. This is driving me nuts, and I know I'm not crazy--I know I didn't dream it up!! Any help?
Answer HI Celeste,
The type of transition you mentioned has been done numerous times, so it's hard to pinpoint what it might be. Thinking of pigtails reminds me of Pippi Longstocking perhaps? I know there have been some movies made of her character, though I didn't watch them. The Hallmark Channel has run them; don't know if that's significant or not.
I have no doubt you're thinking of a movie. If it's truly a Hallmark, you can probably search for 'Hallmark movies' or something, or go to the Hallmark Channel and check their records there.
Without something more concrete in terms of the story, character names, a performer, etc., I'm not able to help beyond making the above suggestions.
