About Marcia Studley
Expertise
I`m a true member of the tv generation! I grew up doing my homework while watching the classics of the 60`s and 70`s and today, they are still my favorites. I have a big library of tv and film reference books at my disposal, as well as a large video library. My memory is pretty darn good too, and when that fails, I can hit the books and/or videos, not to mention a few friends who are as devout tv gen members as I am. Please note that my expertise is with American tv only.

Question
Hi-Not sure if this was just on Boston or on a national level but when the early Outer Limits show aired there was a friendly martian type who would intro the commercial breaks. My friend is trying to find the answer and thinks the name of the martian was Dweeb. Any clue?
Thank you for any info you could provide!

Even though "expert" Test pattern Guy sais this: "I'm a pop culture freak who loves TV, old and new... ask me about classic TV, new TV, commercials, jingles, cartoons, Saturday morning shows, you name it. If I don`t know it, I can find it out... Believe it or not, I even know some of the infomercials by heart.. "Set it and forget it!""
HE SENT ME BACK A NOTE THAT SAID IT WAS NOT HIS AREA OF EXPERTISE...did I read his info wrong????

Answer
Hi Frank,

The problem is actually something you mentioned yourself -- the character you're asking about is local.  I did do a search, but didn't come up with a thing, which isn't unusual for things that were local or regional, and this is definitely not a national character.  I would guess that's why the other 'expert' responded with the expertise response.  I sometimes have done the same thing because I don't know local/regional information, and it's very difficult to find.

What I would suggest is researching your local TV station that Outer Limits aired on.  Contact them, or go to their website and look at their history.  You might find the character mentioned, or find a contact there where you can make an inquiry.  You can also try your local newspaper, if it was operating at the time.

Good luck!
