I will try and answer all questions dealing with television...show names, plots, actors, roles, networks, etc...US shows primarily; not real knowledgeable on TV from other countries...I lean heavily into past, more so than current, television...and, my knowledge dealing with "reality" shows is limited, due to the fact that I really can't stand the genre (my apologies to all the "Reality" fans out there...)

Years of watching and cataloging television shows

Subject: Marionette robots

Question
This has been bothering me for a while, for some reason. I remember watching a cartoon show in TV during the early 1960's, it was either on a space ship or perhaps a sub. There was a recurring scene where doors would open to show a robot walking from right to left (or left to right, who can remember). He didn't walk through the door, as I recall; the door only revealed a hallway he was walking down. If I recall correctly, the doors were a series of triangles that would mesh together when closed. I can't remember the significance of the robot, but they showed it a lot, so I imagine he was off to perform some important chore that happened many times.

Answer
Well, Wayne; I don't recall the exact scene you mention...

you say "marionette" robot, then you mention it's a cartoon, so that confuses me...

if it's marionettes, it's probably one of Gerry Anderson's shows... and the only one I can recall that has a robot is Fireball XL5 (Robert the Robot)... tho, he usually is in the spaceship with Steve Zodiac and Venus...

if it's an actual cartoon, well....

perhaps one of my erstwhile fellow experts can jump in here...

I'll keep this in my "Open" file, and when I find it, I'll follow up here...

Sorry I wasn't able to come up with your answer right now...

Thanks for a Great Question !!!
Take Care,
Mike
