About Marcia Studley
Expertise
I`m a true member of the tv generation! I grew up doing my homework while watching the classics of the 60`s and 70`s and today, they are still my favorites. I have a big library of tv and film reference books at my disposal, as well as a large video library. My memory is pretty darn good too, and when that fails, I can hit the books and/or videos, not to mention a few friends who are as devout tv gen members as I am. Please note that my expertise is with American tv only.

Question
I have been trying to find someone who may have seen an old Cinderella cartoon as well. Maybe we are talking about the same one. All I remember about it is that there were mice and a lizard, and they wore sunglasses and played saxophones. It was a tv cartoon movie that I saw in the late 80s/early 90s, possibly on Nickelodeon. I used to think it was affiliated with the Grimms Fairy Tales classics series by Haim Saban, but I havent found anything to confirm that. It did strike me as Japanese animated though. Are we talking about the same movie?

Answer
Hi Mina,

Sorry for the slow response.  Nick did air Grimm's Classic Fairy Tales that included a two-part Cinderella in 1987.  It was indeed Japanese anime.  I couldn't find much detail on it, just that it was one of many classic fairytales done in this series.  I've confirmed that in several places; there just isn't more specifics.

Hope that helps!
