I will try and answer all questions dealing with television...show names, plots, actors, roles, networks, etc...US shows primarily; not real knowledgeable on TV from other countries...I lean heavily into past, more so than current, television...and, my knowledge dealing with "reality" shows is limited, due to the fact that I really can't stand the genre (my apologies to all the "Reality" fans out there...)

Subject: Old TV "spy" show

Question
I recall a TV show in the 60s (maybe 70s) that I think was called "Search" or similar.  It had to do with a high tech US spy or detective organization that used a lot of technology.  I specifically recall that the main actor wore a necklace of sorts that beamed a video signal to headquarters.  Can you help me out and provide me specifics?  (Or am I dreamin' a 6 Million Dollar man prequel?)  Thanks!

Answer
David, it was in the 70's...

The program was, indeed, called, "Search", and was broadcast on the NBC Television Network on Wednesday nights from September 13th, 1972 to August 29th, 1973...

The stories revolved around the agents of the Probe Division of World Securities, run by a man named Cameron, played by Burgess Meredith... he manned mission control with a staff of 5 or 6 specialists, each one dealing with a special job...

the agents included Hugh Lockwood, played by Hugh O'Brian, Nick Bianco, played by Tony Franciosa, and C.R. Grover, played by Doug McClure... the agents rotated week to week...

each agent was equipped with a transmitter and earphone implanted in one ear, and a miniature scanning device, worn on a ring or or tie clip, which would beam visuals back to Probe...

The agents usually found themselves finding and/or protecting someone or something, often dealing in the political world...

it was one of my favorites growing up, if for no other reason than specialist Gloria Harding, played by the lovely Angel Tompkins !!! She made wearing a lab coat sexy !!!   :-)

I know this answers your query !!!

Thanks for a Great Question !!!
Take Care,
Mike
