I will try and answer all questions dealing with television...show names, plots, actors, roles, networks, etc...US shows primarily; not real knowledgeable on TV from other countries...I lean heavily into past, more so than current, television...and, my knowledge dealing with "reality" shows is limited, due to the fact that I really can't stand the genre (my apologies to all the "Reality" fans out there...)

Question
I saw an animated movie on a TV in 79 with bad reception. the plot was 2 robots created by competing companies. The Male dominated co. created a young male adult. The female co. a cute female. The robots meet, escape together to a planet I think was called "Junkalon" The companies come to reclaim them, fail and the company heads fall in love likewise.  What is this movie.  I believe it was about an hour long, seemed well done despite bad reception, and quite cute in its Romeo and Juliet futuristic theme.

Answer
Albert, you've answered you own question - sort of...

The show you are remembering was "Romie-O and Julie-8", a half-hour cartoon released in syndication in April of 1979...

it was a musical of sorts based on the Romeo & Juliet love story, only with robots...

the only name I recognize in the cast and credits is John Sebastian, who wrote the theme song for the series, "Welcome Back, Kotter"... he's credited here with song writing and vocals...

I found a YouTube video of one of the songs...

I hope this answers your query !!!

Thanks for a Great Question !!!
Take Care,
Mike
