About Marcia Studley
Expertise
I`m a true member of the tv generation! I grew up doing my homework while watching the classics of the 60`s and 70`s and today, they are still my favorites. I have a big library of tv and film reference books at my disposal, as well as a large video library. My memory is pretty darn good too, and when that fails, I can hit the books and/or videos, not to mention a few friends who are as devout tv gen members as I am. Please note that my expertise is with American tv only.

Question
A friend and I've been trying to remember the name of the '84 or '85 tv show about a private eye that lived on a houseboat and drove a '57 (I think) Corvette.  While searching, I came across a similar question hat ou were asked in '07.  Ever come up with an answer?

Answer
Hi Jeff ...

Could you be thinking of Riptide?  Joe Penny starred in that one about 3 detectives that worked out of a boat, though it wasn't a houseboat.  The car was red; not sure if it was a corvette or not.

I also thought about Hardcastle and McCormick with Brian Keith. McCormick had a sleek red coyote that was all the rage back then, but I don't know where that character lived.  If it was on a boat, it wasn't mentioned much.

Are either of these the show you are thinking of?
