Can you help with this question:
Back in the 1970s a couple met while filming the lead roles of a real life husband and wife in a Tv movie, and were married soon afterwards.What were the names of the husband and wife they were portraying?
He was not particularly famous, but it is fair to say that the lady in question was supremely talented, probably more so in her general area of expertise than any other woman before or since.

I'm a little confused by the question. Are you saying that an actor and actress appeared together in a regular TV back in the 70's, that they fell in love during the TV show and then got married? And are you saying that they were portraying a REAL actor and actress? That really throws me. I don't know of a TV show in the 70's that was any kind of reality TV or autobiographical, so I'm a little confused.
Is the second half of your question/information referring to the couple who met and fell in love, or to their characters.
Now -- just a thought. If your question is just confusing and you're simply looking for a husband/wife who met, fell in love and married after portraying a husband and wife on TV (not a REAL husband and wife, but just a husband and wife) ... and where you're saying he wasn't as successful as her, I do have an idea. However, I wouldn't say she was 'probably more so ...' etc at all.
Anywho, David Birney and Meredeth Baxter met filming "Bridget Loves Bernie" on TV in the 70's, and that may be who you're looking for.
