Television Trivia - late 60's -early 70's revolutionary era tv series

Expert: Richard Johnson - 3/3/2009

Question
I am trying to figure out the name of a tv series, (or multiple part tv movie)possibly Disney, set in the Revolutionary War era, about a patriot who rides around dressed as either a scarecrow or headless Horseman, terrorizing the British

Answer
The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh 3 Part Wonderful World Of Disney Telefilm. It was also released as Dr. Syn Alias The Scarecrow (but this verion is missing over 45 minutes of the original film). This is available on DVD as a special EXTREMLY LIMITED DVD Treasures set. It comes in a numbered Tin and features both cuts of the movie as well as Patrick Mcgooghans Finale interview before his death this past December. If you happen to subscribe to Disney Movie Club they have it available still (most retailers are sold out). Good Luck on your search this is a great great film. Based on a bookseries by Russell Thorndike.
