Television Trivia - late 70s - early 80s tv show

Question
This may be too vague a description but there was a show with a male host and he tested products and gave his opinion whether you should buy the product or not.  He wanted to prevent people from getting scammed.  It was entertaining and the host was funny.

Answer
Lauren, a name immediately came to mind... David Horowitz...

There was a syndicated show throughout the 80's called, "Fight Back with David Horowitz"...

The show was a consumer advocate show, in which Horowitz did test and give his opinion about products, good and bad...

The entertainment factor was from both "The Commercial Challenge", and "The Horror File"...

The Commercial Challenge segment was just that, Horowitz challenging the claims of products by re-creating the situations from their commercials ...

The Horror File segment was letters from viewers, explaining their dealings with products and companies; also some viewers would send in signs, labels, or advertisements that were confusing or unintentionally funny (like what Jay Leno does now on The Tonight Show)... anyone who's letter was read on the show would get a Fight Back t-shirt, and other prizes...

I hope this answers your Query !!!

Thanks for a Great Question !!!
Take Care,
Mike
