Expertise
I will try and answer all questions dealing with television...show names, plots, actors, roles, networks, etc...US shows primarily; not real knowledgeable on TV from other countries...I lean heavily into past, more so than current, television...and, my knowledge dealing with "reality" shows is limited, due to the fact that I really can't stand the genre (my apologies to all the "Reality" fans out there...)

Years of watching and cataloging television shows

Question
HI WHAT WAS THE NAME OF THE SERIES THAT ANDY PLAYED A COUNTRY LAWYER, WHERE A LADY PLAYED HIS ASSISTANT WAS ALSO HIS DAUGHTER.

Answer
Frank, the series you are trying to remember was, "Matlock", which ran on the NBC television network from September 20th, 1986, to August of 1992, then on ABC from January, 1993 to September 7th, 1995...

The show starred Andy Griffith as Benjamin L. Matlock, a cagey Harvard educated Southern defense lawyer...

As Perry Mason did before him, Matlock always found a way to prove his client innocent...

For the first year, his daughter Charlene Matlock, played by Linda Purl, was his assistant, and Tyler Hudson, played by Kene Holliday, was his legman...

Turnover of the supporting cast throughout the series was considerable, as 'Ol Ben went through 3 assistants (2 of them his daughters) and 3 legmen...

Don Knotts, his partner on the long-running "The Andy Griffith Show", had an occasional role as Ben's pesky neighbor for a few years...

I hope this answers your Query !!!

Thanks for a Great Question !!!
Take Care,
Mike
