Television Trivia - Question about a late 1960s sitcom

Expert: Mike Hensel - 8/20/2009

Question
There was a sitcom in the late 1960s on CBS or ABC.  It was about a young married couple.  The husband's name was "Johnny", and his wife was named (i THINK....) "Angel".  She was French and everytime he got upset with her she would whine "Oh...Johneeeee!"  I can't recall who the stars were, but I'd love to know if you could find out.  Thanks!

Answer
Marnie, you answer is.... "yes", to everything (except the time frame...)   :-)

The show you are remembering was called, "Angel", which ran on the CBS Television Network from October 6, 1960 through September 20, 1961..

It starred Annie Farge as Angel, a petite French girl who married an architect named John Smith (played by Marshall Thompson, later of "Daktari")...

Stories dealt with Angel's efforts to adjust to American life, and the situations that arise from her being from a foreign county...

I hope this answers your Query !!!

Thanks for a Great Question !!!
Take Care,
Mike
