Question Approx. in the early 70's there was a cartoon with a short chubby dog as a police"man" and he would quietly chase down his assailants and scare them by simply saying, "boo." What was this character's name?

I think you may be talking about Droopy.. there were a few Droopy cartoons when he was a cop, or a Mountie, etc, chasing a suspect... the suspect would go on a mad tear to get away from him, only to turn around and Droopy be standing right behind him, and Droopy would say "...boo..."
