Question What television series episode featured a man stuck in a time loop, where he returned to the median of a busy city street every one or few hours? In the course of the brief period, he finds news reports of a space-time phenomenon affecting Earth. In the final loop of the show, he tracks down the scientist to ask him/her how to get out of the loop. When he is told there is no way out, he takes a gun from a nearby guard or cop and shoots himself, only to go back to the busy street where he started. I saw this on TV in the late 80s or early 90s. However, I don't recall that particular premise... it sounds to me like a TV-movie or an episode of an anthology show; I can't see that plot being in a continuing series, especially with the ending you mention...
I'll do more research on anthologies from around that time frame and see what I can come up with..
