About Test Pattern Guy
Expertise
I`m a pop culture freak who loves TV, old and new... ask me about classic TV, new TV, commercials, jingles, cartoons, Saturday morning shows, you name it. If I don`t know it, I can find it out... Believe it or not, I even know some of the infomercials by heart.. "Set it and forget it!"

Experience
Lots of time reading the TV Guide, and way too many nights of insomnia...

Question
Was the 50's to 60's TV show 'The Millionaire' true (like the real life guy from NYC that owns almost all duty free shops and give away his fortune every few years), lossley based on the truth or was it made up?

please advise

thanks

Answer
Hi, Sterling...

"The Millionaire" was strictly a ficitonal work, made up for television... no basis in truth whatsoever... although it is thought that the show has inspired some people, like the guy you mention, to just hand out money to help others sometimes...

Hope this helps,

TPG
