Can you tell me how the doctor, Greg House got injured in the TV show by the same name?

According to the show, his injuries came from a motorcycle wreck, the bike he still rides on the show... watch every now and then and you'll see him come in with a helmet under his arm... he laid the bike down in a wreck, and his leg was badly damaged... it took forever to heal, and he is still in almost constant pain from the injury, hence his addiction to Vicodin...
